Fashion never seems to run out of ideas. What with newer and more enterprising ideas in the field of everyday attires and accessories which go along with it. But then again, nose rings are not something entirely new. In India and in some other Asian countries, nose rings have always been part of the popular culture. From silver to gold to other metals, every type, including artificial plastic is being purchased. The smaller the nose ring the better or lately so it seems. After ear piercing this is the most popular one that exists. As mentioned, in many cultures this is a socially acceptable fashion. Women do it on either of the nostrils, on the left or on the right. Both have significant meanings that are attributed to it. And in other cultures both of them are pierced. This shows high fertility and seems to be accepted as an attribute of being highly feminine.
